The second annual Marshfield Safety Day will take place on Saturday, April 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  This free event is open to the public and offers emergency and disaster preparedness training through interactive displays, equipment demonstrations and presentations.  The event offers activities for all age groups and both individuals and families are encouraged to attend to learn how to prepare for, and react to, emergency situations including natural disasters on land, in the air and at sea.

The FAA has recently published a new airworthiness directive for Piper PA-28, PA-32, PA-34 and PA-44 aircraft that are fifteen years old or older to correct potentially unsafe conditions.  The FAA estimates over 34,000 aircraft fall into this category.

On January 2nd, President Obama signed into law H.R. 8, the ‘American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012’ (2012 Tax Payer Relief Act, public law number P.L. 112-240).

For the past 24 years, the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) has sponsored the International Aviation Art Contest, inviting young people around the world to express the importance of aviation through art.  Each FAI member country sponsors the contest in their respective country and then submits national winners to the FAI International Jury each year for final selection of overall first, second and third place winners.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has just announced delivery of the company’s first fully outfitted Gulfstream G650 aircraft, its all-new ultra-large-cabin, ultra-long range business jet.  The G650 is capable of travelling up to 7,000 nautical miles at 0.85 Mach or 6,000 nautical miles at 0.90 mach, making it the most powerful jet in the Gulfstream fleet—and the fastest civil aircraft in the sky.

In November, Gulfstream announced delivery of its first fully outfitted G280 aircraft, its new best-in-class super mid-sized business jet, to a U.S. manufacturer.  The G280 which replaces the G200 large cabin mid-range model, earned type certificates from both the U.S. FAA and the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel earlier this year.
