Piper Aircraft Inc., in conjunction with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative, has unveiled ‘Making Strides with Piper’, a collaborative fundraising effort to help promote breast cancer awareness.
As part of the campaign, Piper has designed and specially decorated one of its venerable Seneca V aircraft with the well-recognized pink breast cancer awareness ribbons. The distinctive aircraft is on display and can be viewed at the company headquarters alongside Aviation Boulevard at Vero Beach Municipal Airport.
In association Bimini Bay Resort & Marina, Piper’s efforts also include a sponsored drawing offering one lucky winner a luxury get-away for two that includes private air travel and a weekend stay (2 nights, 3 days) at the luxury Bahamas hotel with proceeds to benefit the fight against breast cancer.
Bimini Bay resort is an exclusive oceanfront community featuring over 480 luxury homes and villas suites, the largest yacht marina in the Bahamas, four on-site restaurants, two swimming pools, tennis, an open-air shopping village, a children’s play center and a newly opened Beach Club. With its close proximity to South Florida – only 121 nautical miles from Vero Beach, Bimini is known as the gateway to The Bahamas.
No purchase is required to enter the drawing, though a $25 donation is suggested. Tickets are available through November 10th and can be obtained by emailing contact information – including name, phone, and mailing address to: email@example.com. (Note that winners must have a valid passport.)
Every Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors and remember those who have been lost, raise awareness about steps to reduce the risk of breast cancer, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease with breast cancer research, information and services, as well as access to mammograms for women who need them.
“Everyone knows that American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks help fight breast cancer. We’ve just taken it a step further and are sponsoring a flight for some lucky recipients so they can take a walk on the beach in the Bahamas and help fight breast cancer at the same time,” said Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott.
The Making Strides with Piper promotion is in support of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the exclusive beneficiary is the American Cancer Society program entitled Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, presented by Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, Florida.
