Thanks to a new service agreement with Jeppesen, all of Piper, Inc.’s aircraft will now include flight data from the Boeing Digital Aviation subsidiary as part of the general aircraft purchase package, simplifying pilots’ access to flight information.
Newly ordered Piper aircraft will now be delivered with Jeppesen NavData® and digital charts preloaded and ready for use in-flight. Additionally, Piper aircraft fitted with Garmin G1000 avionics will gain a PilotPak data bundle with supplemental databases consisting of terrain, obstacle, airport, and SafeTaxi diagrams as well as the standard Jeppesen navigation data.
The agreement streamlines preflight preparation according to Drew McEwen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Piper. “Having Jeppesen flight data onboard at the time of new aircraft delivery eliminates a step in the flight preparation process and enhances the overall customer experience,” he said. “This data service provides trusted flight information that is packaged for the specific needs of pilots as they take to the skies in their newly purchased Piper airplane.”
Jeppesen’s flight data package will be included across Piper’s line, including the Single Engine Turboprop Piper Meridian, the Single Engine Piston Pressurized Piper Mirage, the Single Engine Piston Unpressurized Piper Matrix, the Multiengine Piston Unpressurized Piper Seneca V, the Multiengine Piston Trainer Piper Seminole, the Single Engine Piston Trainer Piper Arrow, the Single Engine Unpressurized Piper Archer LX, and the Single Engine Unpressurized Piper Archer TC. Garmin 1000 avionics functionality is included in all models, aside from the Piper Arrow, which carries G500 avionics.
Director of Jeppesen General Aviation Client Management David Wright said, “We are dedicated to serving the needs of the dynamic general aviation industry and teaming with Piper Aircraft to provide onboard digital flight data offers added value to the aircraft purchase process that pilots will appreciate.” Wright added, “This turn-key experience simplifies the flight information acquisition and revision process and pilots are able to fly sooner, with trusted Jeppesen data already onboard.”
Jeppesen NavData® is created using a comprehensive aviation database which incorporates over one million records. The up-to-date accuracy of Jeppesen NavData® is ensured by a regular revision cycle. Every 28 days, Jeppesen flight information analysts edit and verify approximately 150,000 database revisions sourced from worldwide aviation documents.
