Sets New World Record
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation has just added city-pair record to its list for the G650ER, the company’s flagship business jet, this time linking Dubai, United Arab Emirates with NYC.
Departing from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport on November 13, G650ER travelled 6,159 nautical miles/11,407 km, and landing at New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport just 13 hours and 10 minutes later, the jet flew at an average cruise speed in excess of Mach 0.87.
This new city-pair record will be filed with the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale in Switzerland for official recognition as a world record, pending approval by the U.S. National Aeronautic Association.
Stated Scott Neal, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Gulfstream. “The G650ER gives our customers the gift of time by getting somewhere fast and enhancing efficiency in every aspect of business travel”
Added Neal, “Linking these two financial centers so quickly is a real-world demonstration of the G650ER's singular capabilities. No other aircraft can do what the G650ER can.”
Pushing the Envelope
Earlier this year, the G650ER set two additional city-pair records while flying around the world—in one stop—a feat no other business jet has yet achieved.
The jet first traveled from White Plains, New York to Beijing, a distance of 6,939 nm/12,851 kilometers, at a speed of Mach 0.87. From there it went on to fly from Beijing to Savannah, GA, covering the final 6,572 nm/12,171 km at Mach 0.89.
Travelling 7,500 nm/13,890 km at Mach 0.85 and 6,400 nm/11,853 km at Mach 0.90, Gulfstream’s G650ER can is unequivocally the industry’s fastest long-range business jet. It delivers a maximum speed of Mach 0.925.
The outstanding range of G650ER significantly expands the number of nonstop connections possible between cities. This remarkable jet takes passengers from Dubai to Atlanta—nonstop. From Hong Kong, most of the U.S. Eastern Seaboard is now a direct flight. A dozen cities are now able to connect nonstop with Sydney, including Riyadh and Dallas.
Together, G650 and G650ER currently hold over 50 world records.
Luxury & Speed Go Hand-in-Hand
Sharing many of the same amenities and features as the G650, G650ER provides passengers with the most comfortable—and healthiest—cabin experience available today.
The aircraft provides passengers with wider luxury seating, more aisle room, 16 glorious panoramic windows, the lowest cabin altitude of any business jet on the market, and has the largest purpose-built business-jet cabin.
With the ability to control cabin entertainment, lighting and temperature with a smart device, it combines the most advanced features with extraordinarily simple operation.
