KGHG ramp revamp project shifts

KGHG east ramp to go first

Marshfield Municipal Airport was originally scheduled to close the main ramp and associated taxiways for construction this weekend. However, due to circumstances beyond airport fixed base operator Shoreline Aviation’s control, the plan has changed.

Work will now begin with paving and rehabilitation work on the east ramp (run-up area) and the northern access road prior to starting any work on the main ramp. While this is less disruptive than the originally planned ramp closures, the project will still impact flight operations.

The northern access road will be paved in advance of the main ramp area. Fencing has been installed to protect wetlands.

NOTAMs (Notices to Air Missions) have been published closing Taxiway Alpha between Taxiway Charlie and the Penmor hangar. Please refer to the image for a visual reference of the affected area.

Due to this closure, aircraft landing on Runway 6 or departing from Runway 24 will need to back taxi. Pilots will exercise caution with jet blast when operating near the marked construction zone, as there will be loose debris, heavy equipment, and construction personnel in close proximity.

The main ramp project is expected to begin once this initial construction phase is complete.
