Charge your EV for no charge through March!

The reception by the public of the electric vehicle charging stations at Marshfield Municipal Airport has been terrific. To celebrate this success and help introduce the chargers to more EV drivers, the charging stations are now free to the public, through March 2024.

This freebie offer comes from both Shoreline Aviation, the company that manages Marshfield Municipal Airport for the town, and also from BETA Technologies, the company that developed the charging technology (visit www.beta.team). The companies partnered in installing the charging stations last year.

BETA is the company from Vermont that also developed the Alia 250 electric aircraft, which visited Marshfield Airport last October to celebrate the installation of the Level 3 electric aircraft charging station that sits on the air side of the fence from the ground vehicle charging stations in the parking lot at 93 Old Colony Lane, off Ocean Street. That charging station is, in fact, the only electric aircraft charging station in the entire state.

Yes, electric aircraft are coming into the aviation world, the same as electric vehicles have made giant leaps into the automobile market. Read our lead story about the electric aircraft visit (it links to all eight parts, with photos and video): www.shorelineaviation.net/news-article/shoreline-aviation-celebrates-commissioning-of-the-bay-states-first-electric-plane-charging-station-part-i/

While the aviation market is still in the early developmental stages, the auto market is strong and growing fast. And that is a big reason why Shoreline President Keith Douglass invites the public to stop in any time to charge your vehicles on either the Level 2 or Level 3 chargers – for free!

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer free charging through March,” Douglass said. “I plugged my family’s EV in to be sure it charged at no charge – and it’s all set to go!”

The importance of electric aircraft follows that of electric vehicles. Aviation greenhouse gas emissions are on the rise, and electric aircraft leave no emissions. BETA Technologies is on the leading edge of electric aircraft development. You can read all about it on their website.

For right now, it’s super easy to use the BETA chargers at the airport. Just download the BETA Technologies app from your app store, associate your credit card to it, then scan the code on the BETA charger and charge away. Your electric charges through March will be free!
