For Shoreline Aviation, a day on the ground helps others get up in the air
Shoreline Aviation employees once again displayed their mettle on behalf of a great aviation cause. Shoreline fielded a fearless foursome of golfers willing to spend a superb summer day on the links all for the cause of raising funds for a very special industry scholarship program.
The MBAA (Massachusetts Business Aviation Association) 12th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament pulled people from the business aviation industry together to network, connect, and support aviation in Massachusetts. Learn more about MBAA here: massbizav.org
Most importantly, much of the money raised from the tournament goes toward scholarships that support aspiring aviation professionals. The funds contribute to various scholarships, such as the MBAA Aviation Scholarship, which assists students pursuing careers in aviation (massbizav.org/scholarship).
This year’s event took place on August 29 at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Shoreline Aviation, the fixed base operator of Marshfield Municipal Airport on Massachusetts’ South Shore, not only fielded a foursome this year, but the company also ran a table next to the “Closest to the Pin” competition as its sponsor. In the “Closest to the Pin” competition players aim to hit their ball as close as possible to a specific hole. Each golfer takes a shot, and the one whose ball lands nearest to the hole wins the competition. It’s a fun and challenging part of the tournament that adds a bit of friendly rivalry among participants.
Shoreline’s table being set right next to this competition allowed the company to be at the center of the action and engage with players as they took on the challenge.
Pete Bukuras, Mike James, Patrick Olson, and company President Keith Douglass survived the sunny afternoon on the course, which was followed by a cocktail hour, dinner, raffle, and awards ceremonies. Logan Timpany manned the “Closest to the Pin” table, and Erin Mulcahy, also an MBAA director, coordinated Shoreline’s appearance.
Shoreline fielded a team to support the local Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield golf fundraiser earlier in the summer.
