It’s Business After Hours at Shoreline Aviation
Several members of the South Shore and Marshfield Chambers of Commerce gathered May 30 at Marshfield Municipal Airport for a festive joint Business After Hours event put on by Shoreline Aviation. It was the first time Shoreline hosted an After Hours networking event. More than 50 people faced the cool, drizzly day to attend.
Aircraft Management, Sales and Acquisitions specialist Erin Mulcahey facilitated the event for Shoreline, working with Chamber reps to coordinate reservations, and lining up refreshments with local businesses. Erin served as hostess for the event, greeting and addressing the attendees.
She told attendees that the airport was developed in the 1940s and was purchased by the town in 1965 for economic development purposes. She noted that Shoreline has been managing the airport for the town since 1981 and described the various departments of the company, including aircraft management, charter, maintenance, sales and acquisitions, and its flight school.
“Many young pilots have learned to fly here, receiving their private pilot’s license and going on to fly for enjoyment, or even be hired by Shoreline as a fulltime pilot on our jets,” she said.
Erin also made the point to describe an aviation first for Massachusetts.
“This past fall Shoreline spearheaded an effort with aviation pioneer Beta Technologies of Burlington, Vermont, which is building a fully integrated electric aviation system to enable more sustainable modes of transportation, to install their electric aircraft charging station, making Marshfield the first and only airport in Massachusetts with this capability.”
South Shore Chamber President and CEO Peter Forman led a contingent including Vice President Julie Williams and Engagement Lead Jill O’Brien. Marshfield Chamber representatives included President Jeremy Devaney, Executive Director Lara Brait, and Membership Director Laurie Solomon.
Shoreline President Keith Douglass engaged in endless conversation with guests, as did Charter Operations Manager Patrick Olson, Sales and Operations Specialist Peter Bukuras, and Flight Logistics Specialist Logan Timpany.
The two-hour event flew by, as guests networked, enjoyed refreshments, and toured one of Shoreline’s fleet of Citation jets. Erin wrapped her address with an invitation that some locals already knew.
“We are proud to be a part of the Marshfield community,” Erin said to the audience, “and welcome you to come visit and watch our aircraft take off any day!”
