Marshfield Municipal Airport offers electrical charging for EVs

Level 2 and 3 chargers are live at the Marshfield Municipal Airport parking lot.

Shoreline Aviation, Inc., Marshfield Municipal Airport’s management company, now offers Level 2 and 3 charging stations for electric vehicles in their parking lot at 93 Old Colony Lane in Marshfield.

Shoreline developed their charger program with electrical systems pioneer BETA Technologies, of Vermont. Eversource handled the electrical infrastructure installation. The state Department of Transportation collaborated in the project.

Shoreline had BETA’s Level 2 and Level 3 charger installed in the airport’s parking lot, right outside the terminal building. The Level 2 charger uses standard J1172 plugs. The Level 3 charger offers 1 CCS and 1 CHAdeMO plug. These cover most vehicles except Teslas, and those can use an adapter. CCS is a North American standard fast charge plug, and CHAdeMO handles some Japanese brands, like the Nisan Leaf.

Charging at the BETA charge station at the airport is easy. Just download the free BETA Technologies app here or from your app store, associate a charge card with it, and use it to read the bar code on the charging station. The Level 2 charges at 7 kw. The Level 3 charges at 200 kw. The app also lists current prices.

The app shows the airport in the BETA network map. The charging station will also be populated to the US Department of Energy locator map.
