The addition of a new 2024 Pilatus PC-12 NGX turboprop aircraft to its managed fleet puts Shoreline Aviation in an even more admirable position. Shoreline – the longtime fixed base operator of Marshfield Municipal Airport – now features a stablemate for its PC-12 NG, a workhorse turboprop aircraft already partnering with the company’s fleet of Citation 560XL series and Falcon 2000LX jets.

The PC-12 NGX is expected to be added to Shoreline Aviation’s Charter Certificate by March. Its primary base is at Norwood Memorial Airport in Southeastern Massachusetts.

The Pilatus PC-12 is a storied aircraft. Developed by the iconic Pilatus Aircraft in Switzerland in 1991, the original model set the standard for utility with powerful engines, spacious cargo load, and significant short-field takeoff and landing capability. The PC-12 NG (Next Generation) was launched in 2007 with the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67P turbine engine, which featured improved climb performance and a maximum cruise speed of 280 knots (322 MPH). The NGX began shipping to customers in 2020.

Says Pilatus: “In over ten million flight hours, the PC-12 has proven itself as the most versatile and valued business aircraft in the world. It’s an original that is impossible to copy. The PC-12 NGX takes this legacy to the next level of refinement, efficiency, and technological advancement.” Also, “Together with BMW Designworks we are pleased to offer the most comfortable and modern cabin experience ever in the PC-12 NGX.”

A review of the NGX in Flying magazine says, “The NGX comes standard with a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6E-67XP with full authority digital engine control—a first for a single-engine turboprop—that includes an autothrottle and 10 percent more usable horsepower.” The aircraft also features updated Honeywell Epic avionics.

“This is a great New England airplane,” says Shoreline Aviation President Keith Douglass. “It has tremendous short-field capability, so it can land at most local airfields. We love its versatility, its safety record, and the economics of running it. It’s a favorite among business people for its efficiency, affordability, and range (1,800 miles with five passengers and two pilots). And people going skiing or hunting can get into places other planes can’t.”

In fact, the PC-12 NGX can use runways as short as 2,485 feet at its maximum weight and operate from dirt, gravel, and grass surfaces. The NGX can fly at 290 knots (333 MPH) and can carry up to nine passengers with two pilots. It features a large cargo door in addition to passenger entry. And it reaches an altitude of 30,000 feet. While the PC-12 is single-pilot certified, Shoreline flies its Pilatus turboprops with two pilots.
