As you know, Shoreline Aviation, Inc. has managed the airport since 1982. What you might not know is that the original Marshfield Airport was given life in 1948 by WWII Navy pilot Joseph Ford. He purchased the property in 1946 and began clearing it to make a runway. Before you know it, he had four planes and a couple dozen students taking lessons. The town purchased the property in 1965, and it became Marshfield Municipal Airport.
